NAHA 2009

I just got back from Las Vegas where I attended The North American Hairstyling Awards 2009!!! It was totally AMAZING! These are some of the few winners and famous people in the hair industry. They are always friendly and love having their picture taken. I am the red head by the way. Do you like my crazy color? My husband doesn't really care for it. He wants it to be long as well, but I love it this sassy color. I think it matches my personality best RIGHT!?!

Just Found Out that I am a Rare Redhead!!!!

I just took a quiz on facebook, which I never do, called What Hair Colour Best Descibes You? It was fun. It says:

There was a little more but my computer just resarted. It's stupid sometimes. Anyway I thought that was interesting that I am a redhead and it told me I was.

Our trip to Las Vegas was super fun. We went the end of March and it was pretty warm. We had a lot of fun playing games, seeing all the different hotels, and playing a little in at Lake Mead. We went shoppng at Cesaer's Palace, we got to see a baby tiger slepping, watch the dolphins swim around and play with the bouncy balls and got to eat a whole lot of food. We played lots of games at Circus Circus and won tons of prices. It was so much fun and Leighton loved it, as you can see.

Today was the Trashion Show at the Home Emporium. It was so exciting. I woke up bright and early, well for me anyway, and headed to Austin Kade Academy to get my model ready for the big event. It was more like playing than working. I love that about my job. Anyway, I got her makeup on and then Niki helped with the hair and assembling the bubble
wrap dress. It was an experience we hope to have again for
sure. We went and got in line for the show to begin and when
the music started everyone got pumped. One by one the
models came on stage to strut their stuff. As soon as they announced the 3 finalists the audience was told they would decide the winner by how loud the applause would be. So at that point I knew Niki and I had won. We have very loud family and friends. We won a $200 gift card to the mall and bragging rights for a whole year. I think the latter is pretty dang cool. I am so excited! A co-worker and I are entering this Go Green event this Friday. It is called the Trashion Show. It is a fashion show only the clothing items are made from recyclable items. Ours is going to be awesome. I can't wait to get some pictures to add. I hope we win. Our theme is Candy Land. Can you even imagine what that might entail!?!

These are just a few pictures from the Photographer Frank Armstrong who is also a world known makeup artist and is now working in Salt Lake City as a Cosmetologist/Photographer. He was an amazing teacher and I loved getting to work with him. I hope to become great in this field.

What an AMAZING class!!!

I just took the most amazing advanced makeup class through the school I work for. For 2 weeks i spent everyday in this class to help me become a great makeup artist. I am so excited to start trying out what I learned. This is my model that I did hair and makeup on for the photo shoot on the last day of the class. I tried doing finger waves in an actual style for the first time ever and it turned out great! My model was amazing and beautiful, as you can see. She was one of my first students at AKA in Idaho Falls. These pictures are just some I took with my own camera so do not do her justice. As soon as I get the professional pictures back I will post them for everyone to see. I am so excited and hope to start doing makeup around the area and then on to bigger places. Hopefully someday, anyway.
